A Microsoft Windows update that began deploying to customers on December 12, 2017, caused an issue with the Tournament Director application. The error manifests itself in a number of ways, including messages like "Access Denied", or "mPatch undefined", or "The default language catalogs could not be loaded". In some instances the license validation window may open and never complete. The Tournament Director application may continue functioning, or it may exit during startup due to this error.
Version 3.4.2 of the Tournament Director application was released December 14, 2017, with a fix this issue. Please download it from the link above.
If you are using an older version of the Tournament Director application and DO NOT WISH TO UPGRADE AT THIS TIME, you may download a fixed older version of the Tournament Director using the links below. You should download the version that most closely resembles the version you are currently using:--> If you are currently using version 3.3, download version

--> If you are currently using version 3.1 or 3.1.1, download version
--> If you are currently using version 3.0, download version

There is no need to uninstall the application. In fact, doing so will remove your license and you will be required to re-register the software with your license information. Instead, just download the appropriate version and install it. It will upgrade your existing version and your data should remain intact.

Internet Explorer 7.0 or later
Internet Explorer version 9.0 or later is highly recommended for an optimal experience. Internet Explorer does not need to be your primary (default) browser, but it must be installed or the Tournament Director will not function. Since Internet Explorer is installed with Windows, unless you intentionally uninstalled it, you've probably already got it. * Beta versions of Internet Explorer are not supported and will most likely not work!
Windows Media Player 7 or later
Windows Media Player does not need to be your primary (default) media player, but it must be installed in order for Tournament Director sounds to play. Since Windows Media Player is installed with Windows, unless you intentionally uninstalled it, you've probably already got it.
